Bonjour! In a triumph to keep things exciting and exuberant, we at Ersty keep reviving our parallel content part to bring the best out for you. So, now that we reside and function from Paris, we’ll be sharing the city as we experience it with you, right here on your favourite fashion and lifestyle blog- Ertsy!
Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, high street shopping, luxury products, blah blah blah… you’ve hear of all these popular things this city has to offer, but what makes you different from any other tourist if you don’t try something new and off-beat? Here’s a compiled list of most amazing and yet off-beat things to do in Paris.
Visit La Conciergerie

Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie are both the part of same era and history from the medieval times, though the Conciergerie stays far less visited or known about. It is hands down one of the finest secular gothic structures and also evokes an understanding of the Revolution. When the Monarchy moved to Louvre, it was treated as a prison and different kind of cells depending on the status of the inmate that were used remain intact. An of course, the cell where Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned is now a chapel.
2. Eat at Moroccan Restaurants

While the French Cuisine is world renowned, Paris also has a wide variety of Moroccan Cuisine to offer. In fact, even the locals are a big fan of the Moroccan Cuisine here. You can choose from over five hundred cafes and restaurants in Paris dedicated to Moroccan food. And, trust me, it will always be worth it.
3. Witness the Traditional Cabaret

Admittedly, you won’t find many Parisians lined up at any of the Cabaret bars anymore but it is in fact a big part of the Parisian Culture in the by-gone era. And, well, what better way to celebrate culture and nostalgia than dancing, glitz and glamour! *wink*
4. Shop at Vintage Thrift Shop

Nope. I’m not kidding. The thrift shops here are the bomb with collections from 1920s and even before sometimes. One of my personal recommendations is Pretty Box on Rue des Gravilliers and It has even been featured in Vogue!
5. Sign up for Bee-Keeping

Well, if you still have adventure left in you, this is exactly what you want to sooth your soul. The beehives are located at the southwest corner of the Jardin du Luxembourg for local honey production. The classes are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays and with that view and all, damn, are they romantic! *grin* No, seriously, as long as you don’t disturb the process, these bees won’t even notice you and with supervision it is entirely safe an experience.
So, well, that’s my list of off-beat things to in Paris and I hope you do include ’em in your next trip over. Do let me know everything you discover, too. Stay healthy, Stay Ertsy! xx
