Renowned for its association with the ‘party scene’, nightlife, electronic dance music, and the summer clubs, Ibiza is definitely a lot more than just the party scene. The white island boasts 1000s of years of history, culture, & relaxing good vibes. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the killer views follow you throughout the island. On my trip to Ibiza, I discovered a lot of beautiful beaches so I decided to put together this list of the 7 best beaches in Ibiza, according to me.
Beaches in Ibiza come in all landscapes & sizes. I discovered that most of the beaches in Ibiza are rocky & remote but you can easily find some sand beaches, too. That said, the rockier the beach is, the more scenic it is!
When is the best time to visit beaches in Ibiza?
The best time to visit Ibiza is from May to October when high temperatures hover in the mid-20°C and mid-30°C. The months between November and April are considered low season when flight and hotel rates drop along with the temperatures to more moderate. However, if you want to swim on the beaches, you may want to go in the warmer months between mid-June & Aug. The water remains too cold & the weather too windy for any swimming to happen out of that window.
1. Benirràs
The hippie beach
Extremely popular hippie-chic location on the island, this beach welcomes all families, naturists, young, old, birds, animals… everyone! More than being aesthetic, the beach is relaxing & can be family-friendly, too.
There’s a small pizzeria at the waterfront that I definitely recommend for lunch with views!
2. Cala Olivera
The scenic remote beach
A largely untouched serene cove with nothing but crystalline sea, clear skies, clean fresh air, and rocky coast as far as the eye can see, this beach is a local favorite. You’ll also find several naturists here soaking in the sun.
3. Sol D’en Serra
The Sunrise beach
Famous for the scenic sunrise on a hiking pathway, this beach is perfect for a morning hike. The beach legit looks like a high-end private beach so it’s also perfect for the privacy seeker.
4. Cala Jondal
The VIP experience beach
Hands-down one of the most exclusive beaches in Ibiza. It is popular among the rich and famous, made up of luxury beach clubs that offer cocktail bars, restaurants, massages, shops, live music, and more.
5. Punta Galera
The Sunset beach
The most majestic, breathtaking view in Ibiza is at this bay. Surrounded by flat stone formations and shelf-like cliffs over the glistening azure Mediterranean Sea this beach is a truly unique Ibiza experience. The beach is known for cliff-diving, too.
If there’s one thing and only one thing you do in Ibiza, it should watching the sunset at Punta Galera.
6. San Miguel
The charming beach
In this former fishing port, just 5 km to the south, is a stretch of soft sandy beach by the calm blue sea. Surrounded by pine-covered hills, a small climb, the petite sand beach has crystal clear waters ideal for swimming and water sports.
7. Cala Longa
The family-friendly beach
Golden sands, crystal blue waters, and shallow depth make this beach-friendly for families and more.
