Up until this point, you’ve heard me brag too many times of being on budget and such. However, with summer 2018 and my first ever trip to Asia (outside of India), I’m switching up things to a little luxe in this new feature – ErtsyChic Luxescapes. To clarify, it’s not as if I’ve not traveled amidst luxury before, it’s just that now I’m more focused on this niche as a traveler and a travel blogger. Also, this doesn’t mean that I’ll not be making those random budget trips anymore, it just means that you’ll get a taste of both here in a way or another.
Also, Ertsy Chic Luxescapes is not to brag about things money can buy but those experiences that became the highlight of my trip in terms of hospitality, places, & more. Yes, a personal account of a Semi luxe traveler. In this one, I talk about Angsana Phuket, the hotel that literally inspired this idea.
What I Wore:
I’m wearing a Tie-Neck Lace Trim Embroidered Dress from Shein. While it is from a fast fashion store at a very affordable price, the look and feel of the dress and its details are nothing short of premium. I’ve styled it with a Fendi Bandana to mix the affordable and the luxe. Since this is for a rather hectic and experiential day out that would require me to be in and out of my footwear several times, I’m wearing my personalized Havaianas flip-flops with it. This is what I love about comfort styling the most – you can mix a range and genre of fashion and still be fabulous.
If you love the lace details, and the A-line fit of this rayon dress with its rich colour and chic look as much as I do, buy it here.
When diving into the pool, I wore this amazing Pour Moi Swimsuit that I got from UK Swimwear. It’s a detailed and very luxe swimsuit that made me glow and stand out, all at once. You can use this guide to find the perfect luxury swimwear for your beach vacation, too. I mean, this is literally how I found mine and threw away the boring one from last time.
The Stand-Out Experiences:
Staying at Angsana Phuket (Angsana Laguna Phuket)
A big part of why I had an absolutely amazing experience in Phuket is owed to the amazing resort – Angsana Laguna. So much so that it deserves a special mention in this Luxescapes feature. Not only did I absolutely love the property, it’s infrastructure, and the offered services, I’m still gushing over the amazing people spent so much time in delivering the best of Thai hospitality.
The Laguna Area is the most exclusive area in Phuket that is just far enough from the commercial centre to make it quite and lovely. It has the perfect resort feeling amidst the lakes, mountains, and the beaches. This is what drew me to this area in the very first place and I was recommended to book a stay with Angsana Villas Resort by a friend who knew of it. Angsana Laguna Beach Front Resort that is 15 minutes from this hotel is its sister property and provides shared access to its guests. That came as big plus in our whole package.
My friends and I were welcomed like any guests in a 5-star hotel should at Angsana Phuket. From the moment we stepped in, we felt taken care of. Our Villa was a duplex with a scenic view of Phuket and every amenity we could possibly think of. The rooms were clean, smelled great, and had very modern features coupled with wooden textures to add character. The staff was absolutely lovely. I remember having a query for which the night manager came to our villa and helped us sort it out, in person. He even gave us tips to save ourselves from the local scams that Thailand is rather infamous for.
We were offered an access to the complimentary non-motorized water sports such as kayaking, sailing, stand up paddleboard, and surfing at the Bangtao beach (at Angsana Laguna) which immediately switched up our mood and vacation vibe. Moreover, Angsana Laguna also had the longest pool in Phuket waiting for us to dive in, & boy was it amazing!
The most scenic part of our vacation was here. We had the best experience in the sun, sand, and the sea at XANA Beach Club an entertainment-led venue with picture-perfect backdrop by Bangtao bay offering delicious food, beautifully done signature cocktails, and great entertainment. Yes! We did see the famous Thai fire jugglers and really got into the whole ambient environment. My personal favourite was being able to swim in a pool on the beach and enjoying the sunset from that view! (Even remembering it gives me chills)
Baan Talay Restaurant
A contemporary style restaurant featuring fresh local seafood and authentic Thai cuisine with an open kitchen concept, this is where we splurged on our last night in the city. Since I’m a vegetarian, the chef made an extra effort to create a Thai dish for me that would suit my taste more. I mean, if that’s not worth mentioning, I don’t know what is. From him to our lovely server, everyone really made us feel heard and for a lack of better word, happy.
Semi-Private Boat Trip to Phang Nga Bay
The trip to Phang Nga Bay that talked about in my Phuket Travel Diary elaborately is also one of the amazing experiences I had. This was again courtesy Angsana Phuket & Laguna Travels that helped us find the best package and service provider for us. From seeing a Thai village in its preserved reality to the beautiful landscapes of nature & having Thai food in a very local set-up, this experience will stay with me for life. You can read more about it in my travel diary.
So, this is where I conclude my first Ertsy Chic Luxescapes feature. I have had the taste of best hospitality, courtesy Angsana Phuket and I recommend it to you, too. Check them out here and follow Angsana Laguna Phuket on Instagram here & on Facebook here.
Let me know how you like this feature and if you’d like more of such personal accounts of the places I stay at/services I use. Your love is what keeps me going.
