I turned 25 last week on the Amalfi Coast. It’s been a good week of too many new things in my life but I’m genuinely still not over it. The experience was absolutely surreal and worth every last-minute planning. Yes, this was a very last minute trip for me so I didn’t spend much time planning. However, just so you won’t make the same mistake, I have compiled this list for you with all the exciting things to do in Amalfi Coast region.
Amalfi Coast is a region in the country of Italy. Named after Hercules’ beloved nymph, Amalfi city lends its name to the spectacular Coast. The Mediterranean coast is situated on the south side of the Sorrento peninsula forming the southern end of the Bay of Naples. The area has been a vacation favorite since the roman era for its amazing scenery, the dramatic views, the attractive seascape and the pretty seaside towns of Vietri Sul mare, Maiori, Minori, Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano.
Like most European cities, the peak months to visit Amalfi Coast is between April and October, before the cooler winter weather sets in. The months of June and September is considered the best times to visit. The weather is beautiful without the crowds that July and August bring.
However, I did visit in August (for my birthday) and the summer scenery in the region is worth every second in the crowd!
While the closest Airport from Amalfi Coast is Salerno Costa D’Amalfi, the most used Aiport to fly in is the Naples International Airport. You can get a train or a cab to then reach the Eastern Coast towns such as Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, and Ravello. During summer season ferries run from Salerno to Amalfi, Minori, and Positano.
What to wear
A recurring theme in Amalfi is around wearing the color white. In fact, all local stores carried clothes only in white or light pastels. It not only looks amazing in the beach/coastal vibes but also looks rich and classy. So, I recommend wearing white, preferably with some lace/crocheting on it. Like this one that I wore:
2. Dressy Maxi
My second recommendation would be a maxi dress. Not only are they airy and functional but a dressy one with details will make you stand out in day or night! Check out the one I wore:
Thanks to my partner site Shein for both of these outfits. You can check these out and more on their fabulous website. And you can get them for an additional 15% off when you use code ‘9ADITI’.
Overall, go for a chic but comfy vibe when in Amalfi. Be especially wary about footwear since the beaches are stony. You won’t be able to survive them without flip flops.
